The WSORR 2009 Scedule has been released!
June 2, 2008 (Wheatland, MO) Rounds I & II
The first two rounds of racing got underway in a stormy Wheatland, MO. Saturday's night race
was cancelled due to thunderstorms and track conditions. Both rounds of racing were raced on Sunday. One word to describe
the racing on Sunday... MUD! Erickson started at the back of the pack in round one and worked his way up through the muddy
track conditions to finish 6th. Round 2 proved better as the track dried out a little. Erickson started mid pack and started
picking cars off one by one and quickly gained the lead. Erickson lead most of the race but was passed by Mark Steinhardt
towards the end and finished 2nd. After the first two rounds of racing, Erickson is tied for 3rd in the 2008 end of the year
points championship. The next race is June 21-22 in Crandon, WI.
April 15, 2008
ERICKSON Racing would like to welcome GOODYEAR TIRES, Big O's Lube and Service, and A Plus Insurance
Services to the Team for the 2008 WSORR Series! Once again, thank you to all of the returning sponsors. Race season is just
around the corner and ERICKSON is looking forward to returning to the driver seat after sitting out the last half of the 2007
season due to injury.
January 30, 2008
Hope everyone had a great holiday season and a happy new year! Car modifications and preperations will take
place as well as resting for the driver as another off-season is here. Brad Erickson will be working on the car throughout
the off-season, waiting anxiously to get back in the driver seat. Erickson hasn't been in the driver seat due to
an injury that put him in the spotter tower last season (2007) just a few rounds in. A special thanks to Mark Krueger for
jumping into the driver seat for the rest of the 2007 season.
November 30, 2007
Brad Erickson (308) finished 11th in the points this race season (2007) due to an injury that took
him out of the car in round five for the rest of the season.
Mark Krueger (388) finished 12th in points as he assumed the driving responsiblity for Erickson for
the remainder of the 2007 season.
Erickson will be back in 2008 ready to jump in the driver seat to compete once again for the championship.
Of the races Erickson started before the injury, he had an average finishing position of 4th place. You can be sure to see
Brad Erickson at the front of the 1600 Buggy Class in 2008!
Bark River, MI
It was the first time in a buggy since 1999 and Mark
Krueger (388) had to start dead last. He steadily made his way through the field, getting more comfortable with
each lap. Krueger finished a very respectable 6th.
On Sunday, after making more adjustments to the car, the team was again optimistic after final practice
that the bugs were worked out. This proved to be the case. Again starting in the back row, Krueger (looking like
the past champion he is) managed to avoid incidents on the track as he sliced his way through traffic making a run for a final
lap battle for 2nd. He came up a little short, but had an incredible 3rd place podium finish. The team is looking
forward to working with Krueger for the World Championship Races at Crandon, WI.
Erickson - Out For Season
After Brad Erickson got his wrist shattered at Bark River, he was taken to Bellin Hospital in Green Bay
where Dr. Tressler inserted 3 large screws and a plate to repair the bones. This takes him out of the race for the season
and out of the points standing for 2007. However, Erickson has a loyalty to his sponsors and to racing. He
has found a replacement driver who will race his car for the remainder of the season. The Erickson Off-Road Race Team
welcomes Mark Krueger, a former single buggy champion and Pro-Lite driver.
Bark River, MI
Saturday's race found that the same engine problems that plagued the team all season still exist. The
best fight on the track was for 3rd place between Bob Blaney and Erickson. The battle continued
for the majority of the race, an incredible sight to see. The photo finish placed Erickson in 4th which put him
5th in overall points. He and his crew will be working hard into the night to correct this elusive problem.
Hopeful for success with the night's hard work, Erickson went into Sunday's race with optimisim. After
a great start, Erickson in 2nd, the year-long problems again took over. With the throttle stuck wide open, while
pulling off the track to safety, he was struck by another driver, shattering Erickson's wrist on impact. Unfortunately
this took him out of the race and out for the season. This breaks his long running streak of top 10 finishes
for 3 consecutive years!
Crandon, WI
With Lake Odessa cancelled, rounds
3 and 4 took place in Crandon, WI, a crowd favorite. Erickson was raring to go, ready to put it all on the line for a podium
finish. And that’s exactly what he did. Round 3 Erickson came around the land-rush start in 3rd behind the
points leader and the 3 time reigning champion. With nobody behind to battle with, this somewhat uneventful race gave him
the podium he was looking for, 3rd place.
Erickson was pinched on the start in round 4, rounding out
the 1st corner in 9th. He quickly made his way through the pack a few positions to 6th, where
he remained for the rest of the race.
Brad Erickson is working on his motor in anticipation
for the upcoming rounds in Bark River, MI, where he is the crowd favorite at his home town track.
Owotonna, MN
Arriving in Owotonna, MN, the opening venue for
the World Series of Off-Road Racing (W.S.O.R.R.), Brad Erickson was revved up to see the new track upon entering this new
and exciting series. Erickson, number 308 in the 1600 Buggy division of W.S.O.R.R. didn’t hesitate to give it his all
at the .8 of a mile track.
Erickson drew a starting position of 9th
in a class of 14 drivers for Saturday’s race but quickly flew through the pack to 2nd. An altercation with
another buggy caused a loss of several positions which time restraints only allowed him to recover 4 positions for a 4th
place finish.
With practice being cancelled
due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, Sunday’s racing started with poor track conditions. An 8th place start,
along with the muddy track, Erickson was put into survival mode but could only muster up a 6th place finish.
Brad Erickson is currently 6th in points and
is looking forward to the Brush Run at Crandon International Raceway where he is the defending race winner.

Crandon, WI (Labor Day Weekend - September 2006)
The final weekend in the 2006 racing season in Crandon, WI was the World Championship of Off-Road Racing. Saturday's
race started off with a bang! Erickson overcame pre-race brake problems to come around the land-rush start in the 2nd position. While
battling for the lead, a minor miss in the carburetor caused Erickson to fall back two positions, finishing 4th.
For Sunday's race, the battle was on for the points championship. Again, the single buggy driver Brad
Erickson came off the start in 2nd, looking like he was about to take over 1st place. It was an incredible
race for the lead when a football sized rock flew up taking out Erickson's front tire. With 4 laps to go, he put up a
valliant effort to finish 3rd for the day, placing Erickson 2nd in points for the year!
Erickson will be working hard in the off season to prepare the car for the next year. Erickson Racing is looking forward
to seeing all of the fans next year, and competeing for the 2007 season Single Buggy Points Championship! Thank you for
a great year!
Children's Alliance Against Violence Proceeds
Erickson was able to raise $2100 to this important cause in this race season and will do it again in 2007.
Thank you to all of the businesses who helped to make this happen and congratulations to Steinhardt Racing and Beautiful Beginnings
for winning the prize packages for donating at least $50 in 2006.
Bark River, MI (August 2006)
Erickson found the problem in the motor over the one month break and has fixed it. The sputter in the motor has caused
Erickson to lose positions and points over the last three races.
Erickson's homecoming did not prove to be very welcoming. Saturday gave the potential of gaining back the points
lead, but an early race tangle with several other drivers shot that hope. Erickson dodged out fairly quickly, but had
a lot of ground to make up on the lead drivers. However, now dead last in the race, he came through the pack only to
get behind a driver who could not hold his line. With this battle ensuing, Erickson could not get around him, finishing
5th for round 7.
Round 8 had Erickson hopeing to make up ground from the previous race. Off the start,
rounding the hairpin turn, he got caught up in the malay of other drivers. He is quick, making up ground from the back
of the pack again. Nevertheless, the same inexperienced driver from round 7 held Erickson back. He finally made
the pass at the end of the race, finishing 7th. This puts Erickson 3rd in points for the overall season. He looks
forward to redeeming himself at the World Championships in Crandon, WI.
Children's Alliance Against Violence (2006)
The Erickson Off Road Racing Team is striving to make a difference this summer. Erickson is collecting donations
of $50 or more in which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the local Children's Alliance Against Violence.
Your business can also get involved in helping our local youth fight violence simply by granting at least $50.
The donations will be added up and presented to the Alliance on Friday, August 11 at the U.P Off-Road 100 in
Bark River, MI. For each $50 donation, the business name will be put into a drawing to win 4 weekend passes to
the U.P. Off-Road 100 in Bark River on August 12 and 13 (a $100 value), business name recognition on Erickson's
race car, and jewelry from sponsor Richardson Jewelers. The drawing will be held the week of August 7.
To donate to this great cause and have your business entered in the drawing, send a check or cash in the amount of $50
or more made payable to "Brad Erickson's Children's Alliance Against Violence Fund" and drop it off at Peninsula Federal Credit
Union along with business contact information. Don't miss out on this chance to do something great for our local children.
Bark River, MI (July 2006)
It was an exciting weekend in Erickson’s hometown of Bark River, MI for rounds five and six. With 20 cars
entering the single buggy race, Erickson hoped to pull the whole shot on the exhilarating land-rush funnel start right
into a hairpin turn in the first corner. On Saturday, he found himself in 7th off the start and quickly made
his way through the pack once again to 2nd place. However, with such a competitive class, a small miss in the motor
dropped him a spot and Erickson landed another podium finish with 3rd.
Family, friends, and the large capacity crowd thought Sunday would find a victory for Brad Erickson after leading
most of the race. However, one of the most competitive drivers in the class, as well as a good friend of Brad's, found
his way around him and Erickson finished 2nd. This puts him 2nd in the points challenge and he is revved
up for the next race, which is again in Bark River, MI.
Crandon, WI (June 2006)
Erickson continued his success in Crandon, WI. Twenty-one cars entered the field for round three racing
action. Within the first quarter of a lap, Erickson found himself leading the pack, never to give it up! With a several second
lead, Erickson flawlessly took the double checkered flags and landed himself the first postion on the winner’s
podium. With this first place finish, Erickson is now in the lead for the end of the year points race! A perfect start
to a great weekend.
Again, with a strong motor and Erickson's excellent driving ability, the #308 car finds itself taking a podium finish
on Sunday. This time, he had to work a little harder. While battling for first, a sputter in the motor gave the third place
driver just enough time to slip by. However, Erickson wouldn’t give up easily. The first through third place cars finished
within a second of each other. This third place finish keeps Erickson in a tie for first in points. This puts Erickson
in a perfect spot for the upcoming race in Bark River, his hometown.
Antigo, WI (June 2006)
Welcome back to our gracious sponsors for this 2006 season! Erickson was able to send out his motor and trannsmission
to Attig Racing to get a fresh start for this season.
After drawing starting spot 13 out of 19 cars, Erickson started out Saturday's race with a bang. Quickly
moving into 5th position, the wet track conditions aided in spinning out in a slick clay corner, moving him back to the
17th spot. However, with Erickson's driving ability and excellent running car, the #308 buggy soon found himself back
in 5th position, with no time left in the race for Erickson, 5th is where he finished. A great start for the season!
Sunday's race found Erickson starting in 11th, where again he quickly made his way through the pack into the number 2
spot! However, while chasing the leader, with half of the race left to go, a large rock flew into the race car injuring
Erickson's left hand. The numbness led Erickson to lose a little ground on the lead car making it too difficult
to take the lead. However, his motivation was too strong and he still finished the race in 2nd, ending the weekend in
4th overall for the end of the year points championship! After the race, Erickson was taken to the local emergency room
where the good doctors put 7 stitches in the middle finger of his left hand. Although he is sore and stiff, Erickson
will still race at Crandon in two weeks! Now that's a dedicated driver.
